Gay Barber Jailed For 114 Years For Sleeping With 12 School Boys

A 23-year-old barber, Kwame Amponsah, who is apparently a gay, has been jailed 114 years by the Mpraeso Circuit Court for sodomizing 12 Schoolboys at Atawase, a suburb of Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.

Speaking to Agoo News, the Head of Kwahu West Social Welfare Department, Victor Fayi, narrated that, officers went to the field, and afterward they had information that a young man in the community who is a barber was sexually abusing school children.

According to Victor Fayi, armed with that information and with the help of the Assemblymember and opinion leaders, they got the suspect (Kwame Amponsah) arrested.

From there, they took the suspect to DOVVSU which is part of the Ghana Police Service for interrogation and the guy was reminded for seven days.

According to Victor Fayi, ten extra pupils came to report the same issue of being sodomized by the same guy and the he confirmed and accepted that he had slept with the children.

The suspect was taken to the Mpraeso Circuit Court and he went through the process, accepted being guilty, and was asked to serve for 114years in prison.

According to the judge, for the 10 kids, he is supposed to serve for 10 years each and for the other two, he was given 7 years each, making a total of 114 years. He has been given the opportunity to appeal if he so wishes.

However, the Assemblyman for the area, Sampson Sarfo, expressed shock over the incident adding that this is the first of its kind in the area. He also added that the suspect’s parents will be engaged frequently to monitor their children to avoid future occurrences.
