Ghana Immigration Service Reacts To The Arrest Of Aisha Huang; Sends Message To Critics

The Public relations officer for the Ghana Immigration Service, Michael Amoako Atta has reacted to the recent arrest of Aisha Huang, Chinese citizen in Ghana.

Following her arrest, some Ghanaians have criticised the Ghana Immigration service for failing to do their work well because Aisha Huang entered the country without the immigration officers noticing it. According to the Michael Amoako Atta, the Ghana Immigration Service officers are not sleeping on their jobs.

He served a strong notice some Ghanaians who are blaming the Ghana Immigration service that Aisha Huang was arrested by the immigration officers few days after she came into the country. He said the officers rather “intercepted” Aisha Huang and handed her over to National Security for her to be trialled.

"The information I have from our officers have is that she has not been here for three months. She was intercepted by our officers on 2nd September by our officers. We have not hidden the fact that our borders are porous and especially in the sub-region. We will soon find the appropriate charges to level against her if all the appropriate agencies come together. If she is convicted, then she may go in for two years" he said

He made this revelation in an Interview with TV3 Ghana this morning. Click here to watch the video.

This comes after Aisha Huang was arrested few days ago for coming into the country to do illegal mining activities. She was once arrested in the country and deported to China for engaging in such activity.
