As the hardships in the country continue, armed robbers also have started trooping in to see how they can rob others. The Begoro District Police Command is seriously on the search for about 4 unknown persons who pounced on a Metro Mass Transit (Kufour Bus) with registration number GT 3389 Z. The location was the Begoro police checkpoint.
The sad news was that the four unknown persons unlawfully robbed passengers of an enviable GHS36,480.00 during their operation. In addition to this, they took nine cell phones in addition to this. People questioned why this had to happen at the police barrier, but the police officers said they weren't at work that time.
“The padlock to the police barricade was not locked, enabling the robbers to get access to the room from where they mounted their own barriers and robbed the passengers with the above-mentioned sums of money, phones and beating the victims at even at gunpoint,” police added in a statement added.
The identity of the robbers is a mystery because according to the driver, George Asante, the men were in nose masks.
