Today, a delegation from the Police Ladies Association (POLAS) of the Ghana Police Service from the Central Regional Police Command storm Hawa Koomson's office to pay a courtesy call on her.
As part of the visit, the delegation discussed their preparations towards the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Women Policing in Ghana, which is under the theme: “Celebrating 70 years of Women Policing in Ghana, Her Evolution and Future.”
It is worthy of note that after the enlistment of first 12 Police Women into the Ghana Police Service on 1st September, 1952, Police women over the years have made significant contributions towards achieving the mandate of the Ghana Police Service (GPS).
As a matter of fact, the success story of police service will be incomplete without underscoring the tremendous efforts of its women police officers.
Hawa Koomson used the opportunity during the visit to congratulate them for working tirelessly to ensure peace, security and contributing to the development of the region through protection of lives and properties.
Also, she admonished them to adhere to motto of the police service which is "service with integrity ".
