As more and more people are now using mobile money to transanct business in Ghana, some unscrupulous persons are devicing new ways to defraud people.
As the the tricks of these criminals are been discovered, they keep finding new ways to defraud people using mobile money to transanct business.
One of such new tricks has been detected by the mobile money vendors association of Ghana.
According to the association, the new trick involves a situation where a person comes to a mobile money agent and claim that, there is a mistake and the money has been conveted to airtime.
The information further stated that, such people normally receive call from a frauster who pretend to be a mobile money vendor and that, there was a network error.
The Mobile Money Vendors Association of Ghana are therefore questioning the general public to beware of this new fraudulent trick by the criminals.
According to data from the Bank of Ghana, the amount of money involved in mobile money transactions has surpassed that of the banking sector.
