IGP of Sierra Leone Storms The Ghana National Police Headquarters And This Happens.

As part of the Ghana Police Service's mission to deliver promptly in crime prevention, detection, apprehension and prosecution of offenders, being consistent with expectations of Ghanaian stakeholders for maximum protection, safe, secure and peaceful communities, Dr Ambrose Michael Sovula, the Inspector General of Police of Sierra Leone paid a courtesy call on the new IGP of the Ghana Police Service Dr George Akuffo Dampare at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on the 12th of October 2021.

IGP Sovula is regarded by many as one of Sierra Leone’s award winning police officers, and a West Africa Road Safety Organisation member who has diligently served the Sierra Leone police for about 40 years since 1980.

The two IGPs seemed to flow well as they discussed issues relating to best practices in Community Oriented Policing, exchange programmes for personnel and other matters affecting the internal security of both Ghana and Sierra Leone which lines up with it's vision to be a world-class Police Service committed to the delivery of planned, democratic, protective and peaceful services.

They also proposed an MOU(Memorandum of Understanding) on law enforcement for consideration by their respective governments to foster stronger bilateral relations between the two countries.

Present at the meeting were COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno- Director General, Administration, COP Kofi Boakyi- Director General, Legal and Prosecution, COP Paul Manly Awuni- Director General, National Patrols Department and COP Fred Adu Anim- Director General, Human Resource.

This courtesy call will surely help tighten the security in the country as they seem to share similar stories in their journeys as IGPs.
