National Identification Authority is the full meaning of NIA. National Identification Authority is responsible of maintaining nationality standards and procedures designed to protect Customer Information and other Personally Identifiable Information. The authority also test and update its technology to improve ability to protect Customer Information and other Personally Identifiable Information.
NIA is about to begin the registration of the Ghana Card again after the management of NIA put a stop to the registration amid the Covid-19 pandemic. And the Management of NIA has come out to release a statement informing the general public to be aware of fraudsters in the country, whiles the registration is about to begin.
According to the National Identification Authority, it has come to their notice that, there is this announcement that, they are collecting a penalty fee of GH¢ 250 for registration of Ghana card to those who failed during the mass registration exercise. But they want to informed that general public that, such information is not from them and wish to inform the general public to desist from dealing with the people behind this.
According to NIA, there is no penalty for failing to register during the mass registration. NIA added that, permanent Regional and District Offices will be opened from June this year for continuous registration, card issuance, card replacement and updates.
The Management of National Identification Authority concluded that, they only charge GH¢ 250 for it's Premium Service only, and this service is only available at their Head Office.
