
A "violent suspect" stabbed to death an officer in the Bono Region, according to the Ghana Police Service.
According to the report, the assailant in the killing was gunned down and killed in the process.
"With a heavy heart, the Police Administration wishes to inform the public that a police officer was stabbed to death, and that the aggressive suspect was also shot and died in the process. The tragic occurrence occurred in the Bono Region, and we will provide more information once we have notified the late officer's family and next-of-kin "the message reads in parts
The Police Administration has also asked that the media refrain from reporting on the incident until the family of the dead officer has been properly informed.
"In the meanwhile, we sincerely request that the public, particularly the media, refrain from publishing the officer's name or any sensitive details regarding the incident until the family has been properly told."
