Theft robbery

400 People, Homeless at Upper East Region.

Angry mobs attacked and burnt properties that belongs to the Fulani Herdsmen and their families in Bawku at Upper East Region. The mobs allegedly accused the Fulani of stealing a missing motorbike and descended on them during the early hours of August 22, 2021. The angry mobs burnt eighteen (18) houses, fourteen (14) motorbikes, over seventy (70) bags of rice and nineteen (19) bags of maize.

The residents of Widnaba, a farming community in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region has lost their homes to the attack and now planning to sleep outside when night falls. A massive Famine is expected to storm the community because they have lost most of their food stuffs.

The residents of the community reported to the Upper East Regional police command that, a cash amount of thirty five thousand (35,000) Ghana CEDI's and five (5) brand new motorbikes that cost almost twenty thousand (20,000) Ghana CEDI's have been stolen after the angry youth descended on them.

The Upper East Regional police command have commence investigations on the incident to expose the culprits and arrest them.
