How did 1,800 prisoners escape from Nigeria Prison

The Nigerian Correctional Service has confirmed that 1,844 inmates escaped from the jail in Imo state.

This happened when unknown gunmen entered the prison cells by blasting the one of the gates with explosives.

Nigeria Police however suspect separatist group,  a group in Biafra of carrying out the attack. But they deny this blame.

However it has been confirmed that 1844 prisoners have escaped so far.

Heavily armed men stormed the Owerri Custodial Centre in the early hours of Monday, after arriving in pickup trucks and buses, the service said.

This is not a new thing, there have been minor attacks on some of the police stations in Nigeria.

This is a lesson for neighboring countries to strengthen their guard in various stations in the country. Also these 1844 prisoners are likely to travel to neighboring countries especially Ghana to find shelter. This can increase the criminal activities in the country. Please let's all be aware and careful on wherever we may go and let's our security personnel be more and extra vigilant.

Stay Safe.
