At Asamankese, a military officer is said to have shot and killed a taxi driver.
Yaw George, 33, was shot while driving a taxi with the registration number GR 3847-21 and escorting a truck carrying his lumber section

The military was pursuing the lumber truck and the taxi driver, according to eyewitnesses.
One of the officers is alleged to have opened fire through the taxi driver's back window, killing him instantly.
When the officers approached the Police barrier on the Asamankese-Accra lane, this happened.
Sergeant Francis Gomado, the Eastern Regional Police Command's Acting Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.
He did not go on to say anything else, only that the police would contact the media after a thorough investigation.
Meanwhile, residents in the region have expressed their displeasure with the situation and requested an investigation.
