The Ghana flag is Ghana's symbolism.It contains the red,yellow,green and black star in the middle. The red stands for the great men who laid down their lives for the betterment of Ghana. The yellow stands for the minerals and gold in Ghana. The green stands for the rich vegetation we have in the country and the black stands for the emancipation and struggle against coloniasm.
Ever wondered who designed the Ghana flag? Well, A woman named Theodora Okoh salomey designed it. She was born on 13th of June,1922. She is a great woman who had Ghana interest at heart and was one of the few who helped Ghana gained independence in 1957. She was born in Effiduase ,th e then gold coast.
She was a stateswoman, teacher and the first chairwoman of the Ghana hockey association. She has 3 children.
She dies on the 19th of April 2015 in Tema after a short illness.
