Who Was Ali Banat?
Ali Banat was born in Sydney, Australia where he led a short but successful life. During his youth, Ali passionately participated with zeal and contributed to community support work by organizing youth programs aimed at keeping young people off the streets.
After Ali started out as an apprentice electrician, his examplary hard work and determination resulted in the establishment of two successful businesses of his own. And as a self-made businessman, Ali had everything going well for him but suddenly in 2015 at age 29, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (type 4) and given only 7 months to live. Allahu Akbar, contrary to what the health experts told him, Ali lived up to three years.
"Ali immediately embraced his illness as gift from Allah and seizing it as an opportunity to add more meaning to his life", this led him on a humanitarian journey seeking out and implementing ways to help improve the lives of impoverished people all around the world.
Regardless of his horrifying health, Ali through his determination came to Africa where he was overcome by the tremendous amount of poverty he had witnessed. Providing for children and orphans was particularly close to his heart.
Sadly on May 29, 2018, Ali lost his battle with cancer leaving behind a substantial and effective legacy through MATW, an Islamic Charity Foundation(Muslims Around The World) that was established by himself to reach out to the less privilege around the world.
May Allah be pleased with Ali Banat, Ameen.
