Ata ayi who was born with the name Raymond Aryi Aryitey was an armed robber and a carjacker who terrorized the greater Accra region in the early 2000s.
Atta ayi was known to be a very friendly and peaceful loving person but his affable life changed to a sour one due to financial constraints after his mum has left the country with her fiancé.
Atta ayi after haven’t enrolled himself in a car driving school soon graduated and was blessed with a taxi by a friend to work on daily basis.
He took a container to Akropong on one occasion and was involved in an accident which ruined his master's car completely.
He lost his job and was soon introduced into armed robbery by a friend he chose to call eddie who was also part of the gang.
Ata ayi rose to fame after several successful armed robbery in the greater Accra region and always managed to outwit the police service.
His arrests however was a very surprising and simple one when he travelled to the north for a funeral and to take card of his sister’s belongings when a fight between a tenant and his mum.
The tenant slapped his mum which angered him into beating the tenant to pulp , the tenant then alerted the police who came to arrest him on charges of assault.
They were dumbfounded at who they saw but to their predictions it was truly the most wanted criminal in the country who was on the search for a while.
He was arrest immediately amidst constant plea to the police not to administer instant justice on to him but to rather take him to the station.
Atta Ayi after serving a few years in jail finally gave his life to Christ and accepted Christ as his one and only savior.
He is the head pastor of the Nsawam Prison Christmas youth ministry which seeks to bring more souls to Christ and change convicted criminals into good Christians after serving their jail terms.
