Police Arrest Three For Faking Kidnap And Demanding Ransom In Takoradi, Ghanaians React

Ghanaians have reacted in anger against the people of Takoradi for the attitude of faking kidnap and demanding for ransom every time.

In a news release from the Ghana Police Service, three persons from Takoradi were arrested by the Takoradi divisional police command for faking their own kidnap and demanding a ransom of five thousand cedis.

The three suspects, Joana Kra aged 29, Susana Awortwe, 27 and Francis Eshun aged 27 conspired and faked the Kidnap. According to the police, Joanna Kra conspired with the other two to feign her kidnap and after which a call was placed to her family to demand the ransom.

Joanna Kra after realising her adopted father had reported the case to police and intensive investigation had started reported herself to the police with the excuse that she was only joking. The police arrested her, leading to the arrest of the other two.

Ghanaians upon hearing the news have thanked the current inspector general of police Dr George Akuffo Dampare for his hardwork and have blasted the people of Takoradi for making kidnapping another source of income.

Many of the Ghana Police Service Facebook page reacted as follows;

John De Baptist wrote "I don't think anyone in Ghana will take these Takorade people serious again. They started fooling themselves like this for too long.."

Nancy Tawiah wrote: "Takoradi again? Is that some kind of new business or what? This needs to be properly investigated"
