Police in Kpeve has apprehended a hunter who killed a fellow hunter in Vume village in the Volta Region.
The suspect, Yao Papa Domie, 31, shot and murdered a fellow hunter on a hunting expedition.
Once the information reached the Kpeve Police Department, officers were deployed to the case, leading to the suspect's arrest.
According to sources, during questioning by the police, Yao Papa Domie claimed that he shot the deceased Eric Sonka by accident.
According to the evidence acquired, the defendant stated that the victim seemed to be game at the time he fired his rifle.
While the police investigation continues, Yao Papa Domie is expected to be arraigned in court next week.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Peki Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The incident of a hunter mistakenly killing a follow hunter occurred severally in 2021.
