A mini bus with car number AS 1763-13 crushed into a truck travelling from Kumasi to Yendi at Buepe and the driver of the mini bus, Shaibu died. The mini bus was called in from Damango to pick up passengers at Buepe. On reaching Buepe, the driver tried to do overtaking and crushed into an incoming cargo truck.
The mini bus somersaulted, which resulted in the death of the driver. The driver and mate of the cargo truck survied with broken legs and was sent to Buepe Polyclinic, and later transfered to Tamale Teaching Hospital. Family members of the deceased arrived at the Polyclinic to identify the body of the deceased and help police investigation.
The Police requested to do an autopsy on the, however when they returned from going to call a doctor for the autopsy, the body was gone. The family members of the deceased being Muslims, quickly took the body away without the awareness of the Police. They did not want an autopsy to be done on the body so they escaped with it, the Police confirmed.
