The police have arrested a number of persons for their alleged involvement in robbery and murder in separate operations in Ashanti and Savanna Regions.
The suspects from Ashanti Region are: Kofi Poku; Dennis Atta Asamoah Snr and Dennis Atta Asamoah Jnr, all drivers’ mates, and Asante Edward. Dauda Appiah and Yussif Abdullah were arrested in Savannah Region.
According to the police the suspects from the Ashanti Region allegedly stabbed 22year old Shariffa Yakubu, a hairdresser apprentice to death, at Kumasi Academy Junction and bolted with her handbag.
In the far north, the two suspects, together with others currently at large, allegedly robbed their victim at gunpoint of his gold detecting machine at Telekura.
The police say it retrieved empty shell of G3 ammunition, a single barrel gun and a cutlass from the two suspects.
All six have been subjected to police investigations and will give prior notice to the public on due time.
