Ebony Reigns was born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, famously known as Nana Heemaa (Oheema) by her close family in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.
Her parents are Nana Poku Kwarteng and Beatrice Oppong Martin. She was raised in the urban areas of Accra, but comes from the Brong Ahafo area.
She started her basic education at Seven Great Princess Academy in Dansoman, Accra, followed by a highschool education at Methodist Girls highschool at Mamfe within the Akuapim North District of the Eastern Region, Ghana, though she didn't graduate. She retired from high school to continue her musical career.
Cause of Ebony’s Death
Ebony Reigns were killed instantly in a traffic collision on 8 February 2018 whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother.
Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and soldier Atsu Vondee were also killed within the casualty .
The only survivor of the fatal accident was the driver called Phinehas, who resides in Teshie. She passed away a week before her 21st birthday.
Her final funeral rites were held at the forecourt of the state house, Accra, and she was buried at the Osu cemetery on Saturday, March 24, 2018. In preparation for the funeral, the family of the late Ebony received many gifts from eminent persons, governmental and private institutions.
