According to Adom evening news monitored by CitizenOne yesterday, the innocent Muslim girl went missing three days ago around 6pm when the parents were praying in the mosque. Coincidentally, the lights went off around the same time for some minutes
Upon restoration of power, the little girl was nowhere to be found. A search team found the lifeless girl in the guatters after three days. Her tongue had been severed off suggesting that she was killed for ritual purpose. Her remains has since been burried according to Islamic tradition.
Obuase police has commenced investigation to the murder.
Ritual killing is becoming one too many in the country this year. Three months ago, Ghana woke up to the news of the Kasoa ritual murder involving teenagers. This was followed by the recent Kumasi killings where three people were killed in different locations within a week. Then CitizenOne reported the killing of a landlord by his tenant in Amoakrom in the Bia East district of Western North region.
Many have attributed the menace to ritual advertisement on TV of late. Unfortunately National Media Commission has legal backing to regulate media content.
