According to the Assembly Member for the area, this happened on Thursday when the storm started from the eastern side of the town and many people lost their homes due to the storm.
He further stated that, electricity to the area was cut following the rain storm as electric polls were affected.
Schools and Market stores were also destroyed.
The Assembly Member is therefore appealing to the Government and other Organizations to come to the aid of the residents who have lost their homes due to the rainstorm.
The issue of rainstorm normally affects a lot of people in the Northern part of Ghana as the rainy season is set to start between April and June.
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), is yet to access the extent of damage and also assist the people affected.
