An Apsonic tricycle with the registration number M-15-NR-1459 was loaded with firewoods heading from Bolgatanga to Accra.
When the rider of the tricycle got to Pong-Tamale along the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway, a Nissan vehicle with the registration number GC-3077-20 lost control of the steering wheel after hitting a pothole and rammed into the tricycle.
After the Nissan rammed into the tricycle, the rider died instantly at that spot while the three (3) people in the Nissan vehicle including the driver sustained several injuries.
The deceased was buried immediately after the accident by his family while the three (3) injured victims were been rushed to the Savelugu Municipal hospital but later referred and transported in an ambulance to Tamale teaching hospital because their conditions were very critical.
The name of the tricycle rider is Adam Musah and he died at the age of 57.
