Early this morning, The weather forecast made a report that, rain will drizzle in all parts of the regions expect the northern part. They further stated that, it will rain heavily in the northern parts of Ghana and truly, it has rained heavily causing nine (9) death.

The Nine (9) death were recorded in four (4) towns of the North East Region and they are; Janga in the West Mamprusi municipality, Tamboku in the East Mamprusi municipality, Najong number one in the Nakpanduri district and Kunufor in the Chereponi district.

When it was raining, three (3) people were struck down by thunder and lightening, one (1) person died when the boat capsized, two (2) people were taken away after an attempt to cross the river and three (3) others drowned while swimming.

The People who died during the heavy downpour were Alhassan, Iddi Hardi, Abubakar Nasiru, Iddirisu Nurudeen, Badisomah Damyee, Priscilla Badisomah, Gurimpin Iwaak, Baba Kumba and Magelibe Baba.
