In December alone, 5 major market fires have been recorded in the year 2020 including, Odawna market, Kaneshie market, Asankrangwa market and Kantamanto.

In the beginning of this blessing new year, we were of the hope that advice giving to us as Ghanaians will prevent fire outbreak in the country.
Early this dawn, around 4.00 am it was reported that fire engulfed this part of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi. Residents of the University's Republic Hall saw smoke coming from the market behind the school hall.
There was some good news in which the University's Republic Hall was not affected by fire and students were not affected. The fire ravages some properties in the market such as provisions and books etc.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, as some people suspect arsonists attack. Fire accidents are becoming rife across market centres in the country. So Ghanaians should be warn to prevent such occurrence.
