It seems the Ghana Police Service branch in the Greater Accra Region has accepted that they only cannot fight criminals in the Region and municipalities. Few day ago, a daylight robbery happened in the municipality of Achimota. A woman was chased by some bikers and took her GH¢ 29,000. Not only this one, series of robbery have been recorded in the cities of the Accra.
This used to happen at night. Anytime God wakes you up from sleep, the news you will is either robbery or a murder. The Ghana Police Service branch in the Country's capital also invented another way in which they can fight these thugs. They decided to extend the time in which they work. They added some hours to the time they work and when this was done, cases of robbery seemed like vanishing not knowing these thugs and robbers were having a new plan to come back stronger.
After the a video of the Achimota robbery surfaced on social media and, another video also came out showing another daylight robbery at Weija in the Greater Accra Region. Few minutes the video was seen online, the department of the Ghana Police Service in the Region has issued a statement calling on residents of the region to help curb robberies in the Region.
They have noted they will be happy if Ghanaians especially those in the Country's capital to cooperate with them so that they will be able to eliminate them. They also noted that they will give an amount of GH¢ 50,000 to any individual who will provide an information which will lead to the arrest of criminals in the country. They backed the statement with a promise that they will never sit back to allow these thugs to destroy the peace of the people.
My dear fellow countrymen, let's help the police service not in the Greater Accra but Nationwide to fight robberies in the country. Leave your thought on the action taken by the police and follow up for more details.
