CAC Pastor and five others killed in Wassa Akropong accident

A collision involving three cars occurred in Wassa Asikuma on the Wassa Akropong Bawdie road in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality, claiming the lives of six people.

A taxi, a Mercedes Benz Sprinter, and a Kia lorry with the registration numbers GT 6637-20, GT 8721-18, and AC 899-21 were involved in the accident.

The Kia vehicle loaded with bags of cocoa from Bawdie traveling towards Wassa Akropong was driving at high speed, according to an eyewitness, Emmanuel Nipa. As a result, it crashed head-on with a Sprinter bus traveling from Wassa Akropong.

When the taxi driver saw the accident, he attempted to save the passengers but swerved off the road into the bush, hurting the passengers.

A two-year-old kid and Wassa Akropong CAC head Pastor were among those killed, with twenty-two others suffering serious injuries.

The remains have been transported to the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital morgue, while the injured passengers are being treated at the Wassa Akropong hospital and the Wassa Akropong ST Mark hospital.
