The whole neighborhood of Kasoa has been saddened by the death of a ten (10) year old boy. Ishmael Mensah, the diseased young boy is described to be a brilliant member of the family. This terrible act was perpetrated by teenagers who intended to use the body for rituals in order to become billionaires. Felix Nyarko, 16, and Nicholas Kiki, 18, are friends of the deceased boy and according to the report, they sometimes eat together and play games on a laptop owned by the deceased boy at his house.
This incident requests one to ask what exactly will make teenagers want to kill a member of their peers for money rituals. A lot of people have been sharing their thoughts on the matter as some say the killers might have been possessed by evil spirits to perpetrate this act. Others also believe that it is as a result of the ''get rich quick'' advertisements that are been aired on our media platforms. The former president of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, is one of the people who showed support for the latter view. Speaking on JoyNews, he attributed the killing of the 10-year-old to the attention we have given to fraudsters to advertise their deceitful acts on televisions and other media platforms.
The suspects have been released into police custody and will appear again before the court on 20th April 2021.
Share your views on the matter. Could the murder of the 10-year-old Ishmael Mensah be solely attributed to the deceitful adverts made on media platforms?
