The 2018 Africa Gender Minister, Otiko Afisa Djaba has taken her birthday celebration to a different level this year. According to the former New Patriotic Party National Women's Organizer, and Gender, Children & Social Protection Minister, she is recounting her blessings for the past sixty years, thereby gifting 160 wheelchairs to the vulnerable population who are in need of such facilities.
She made this warm and heartsoothing declaration on Adom Badwam Show today, Friday, January 21, 2022. Though today appears to the a Black Friday for the entire Nation, due to the painful loss of innocent lives, necessitated by the Bogoso-Apeatse explosion, she is being grateful to her Maker for counting her among the living.
Madam Djaba is so fortunate to be part of the twenty-one siblings of her parents - Henry Kojo Djaba and Rosalind Sheita Bawa. She hails from Eastern Region's capital, Koforidua to be precise. Otiko vibrantly completed a Diploma in Communications & Marketing; and Computer Systems Analysis, all in the United Kingdom. She is proudly an old student of Tamale Secondary School (currently Tamale Senior High School).
There is more to be done for our vulnerable population, especially those who are battling with various forms of disabilities. Otiko is leaving a memorable and impactful mark today on her birthday, but what about the rest of our leaders who are so much endowed in finances and other privileges?
This is the time to wake up and do something significant for the needy and helpless people in our society, our respective communities, churches, streets, corporate institutions and the country at large. We now have a big troubling situation at hand - which is the Bogoso-Apeatse explosion disaster. All concerned individuals, stakeholders, philanthropists, NGOs and the general public should endeavour to visit the community, especially the victims, and all the affected families, and give them the necessary support and assistance.
