Information we have gathered this afternoon indicates that some group of individuals who are illegally mining stones and sand have got the back up of some national security personnels who guide them on daily basis with guns.
Due to this, the farm lands that belongs to residents of this area have been taking from them just to carry out this illegal activity some where in the Ga-South municipality,Accra.
The Municipal Chief executive of the area who allegedly called for the arrest of these security personnels who were carrying out this act said that he got a tip of that such activities are ongoing in that particular area.
From reports we are gathering,a total of 10 individuals have been arrested and this includes some security personnels who were allegedly guiding the stone and sand minners.
According to him(MCE), no individual or company has been granted permission to carry out any activity of such, so when he got such information he had to rush to the place.
He made mention that upon his arrival together with his team, they saw some security personnels allegedly "National security and BNI.
In conclusion,the MCE made mention that the last time he made it clear that one can not operate without being granted. He also said that all machines that have been seized will be taken to the office
