It seems it is now a way of punishing thieves. About some months ago we witnessed some residents of Tadi who made a thief dance and sing as his punishment. This is the same thing which has happened at Asante Juaben when a thief was caught stealing cassava and a chicken.
According to reports from Kessben FM reporter Malam Yaya on "Breaking News", the thief who is known as Yaw Boakye came to the house of Abena Agyeiwaa in the midnight did not only steal cassava but also made away with a chicken.
All this while a man who lived in the house of Abana Agyeiwaa was awake and saw all that Yaw Boakye was doing. After Yaw Boakye was done and was about fleeing from the house, this man made noise which alerted all neighbors to wake up.
These people didn't inflirt pains on Yaw Boakye in the form of beatings but rather have him a work to do. He was made to peel over 500 cassavas as punishment. After he was done, he was made to go home.
