The police launched a three days intensive operation in Accra, the operation recorded cases of violent crimes in Accra, particularly a billion van attack which led to the killing of a policeman and a pregnant woman at Jamestown on Monday June 14.
This operation began on 17th June 2021 and ended on 20th June 2021 found 17 women out of the 215 arrested. The age range of the suspect are 17 and 52 .
In a statement issued by the police writes, "The area of focus for the exercise include; Korlebu, Tesano, Amasaman, Nima, Dansoman, Abokobi, Accra central, Teshie, Madina, Bastona, Jamestown, Osu and Lakeside. The 3 days operation forms part of efforts to fight violent crimes, drug peddling and street robberies."
"The police mostly intercepted wrapped narcotics substance, sharp implements, mixtures of concoction laced with narcotics, tramadol, etc. The operation also targeted and impounded 168 motorbikes, believed to be used in facilitating the robberies."
