The disciplinary committee of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti region has fired its accounts officer, Awuni Akyireba who Alleged that the hospital has misused COVID-19 donations.
According to the disciplinary committee of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Mr. Awuni Akyireba has breached its code of conduct and his allegations are falsehood and have no basis which is an act of misconduct.
“The Disciplinary Committee Of the Hospital Board has established that your allegation that COVID-19 donations to KATH had been used to buy luxury vehicle had no foundation and therefore a total falsehood".
It is recorded that Mr. Awuni Akyireba used abusive language and has also refused to appear before the disciplinary committee when he was invited.

The Hospital Board found his conduct “reprehensible and unacceptable”, indicating that Mr. Akyireba had been previously warned about his conduct.
However, Mr. Awuni Akyireba said that actions taken by the hospital are unfair and has therefore decided to send the matter to court.
