There is no question that attacks on police stations in the Southeast are becoming more common, as unknown gunmen have been wreaking havoc and damaging numerous structures, automobiles, and residential buildings as a result of their heinous acts. Two police stations and a correctional facility in Imo State were attacked two weeks ago, with many cars burned and buildings damaged. Unknown gunmen stormed Nigerian Police Headquarters, Zone 13 at UKpo, near Akwa in Anambra State, in the early hours of today, according to reports. Two policemen were reportedly shot dead during the attack and their bodies have since been deposited at the hospital's mortuary.
Arms and guns have been retrieved from the unknown gunmen who attacked the Police Station, according to recent reports reaching the journalist, ReignJerry from BBC News Pidgin. Guns and some bullets were among the weapons recovered. The weapons were not manufactured in the United States, implying that the hoodlums were completely trained for the assault by 4 a.m. today.
The advanced weapons were on display at the Anambra State Police Headquarters, AIG Zone 13.
Take a look at some of the guns that were found.
Day in, day out the rate of insecurity in Nigeria is increasing so much. Now, everything looks like the government have relaxed and do not want to take any action. Maybe is true because, for me, I do not see anything that the government have done or is doing to put a stop to this. At this point, I think the United Nation should involve themselves in this issue because it is getting out of hands. Each blessed day, innocent people are killed which include women and kids.
What do you also think it should be done to solve these insecurity issues in Nigeria?
