Road Accident

Three Dangerous Accidents In A Day On Cape Coast- Accra Highway

Its been such a terrible day seeing these vehicular accidents occur on the Cape Coast- Takoradi Highway today. Yes three accidents in just about four hours as I journey to the capital of Ghana.

Two of these accidents involved cargo trucks, and all overturned right before my eyes. They had been speeding and the load forced the bucket to sway the vehicle off the road. It wasn't a collision, and as such the impact was minimal.

Yet properties worth thousand of Ghana Cedis were damaged. No casualty was recorded for these two accidents, which occured just between Mankessim and Winneba, all in the Central Region.

The third accident involved a SsangYong Korando car with registration number GX 2487 12, and a motorcycle. It happened right around Accra Academy SHS.

The rider of the motorcycle was nearly crushed by the vehicle which was taking the exit lane of the Kasoa-Kaneshie Road. The motorcycle had fallen on the riders leg and unable to move. The driver of the car sat still the car not knowing what to do as the vehicles behind him kept blowing their horns to signal him to move.

In about a quarter of an hour the rider managed to pull out from beneath the vehicle. His leg was wounded yet her hoped back on the motor and followed the driver of the car.

These separate incidents kept my colleagues fearing the day was bad for the journey. For the first quarter of 2021, reported vehicular accidents have been rising,.with Central Region leading.
