Videos: Police and staff of VRA/NEDCO lashes residents in Tamale for illegal connection.

Some Police Personnel and some staff of VRA has stormed the houses of some residents in Tamale for using illegal connection.

According to the VRA, those people have not paid their lights bills and are owing the VRA for using their light. The residents did their own connection in order not to be paying electricity bills.

The incident happened early this morning in some areas of Tamale Banvum, Nakpanzoo and Kug bili yili in the Tamale Metro polis under the constituency of the minority leader in Parliament, Hon Haruna Iddrisu.

The acts of these residents are against the constitution of Ghana and must be dealt with in accordance with the constitution as well. It is however disturbing and disappointing to see this unprofessional behavior from both the Police and the staff of VRA/NEDCO.

The people in the North are very disappointed in this maltreatment and calls on Authorities to intervene with the unprofessional behavior from the police. They believed that this kind of maltreatment always happens to the people in the North.

The duty of VRA is to disconnect every illegal connection and arrest offenders to the necessary Authorities but not to physically assault them.

Some of the victims were punished unfairly without illegal connection as per the video. The staff, police and the victims were speaking both English and Dagbani in the video
