Boy Who Wrote BECE In Prison Has Been Denied Admission By 3 Schools Because He's An Ex Convict.

Just in, popular Accra-based Crime check TV channel has called on some legal practitioners in Ghana to help a 23 years old man who has allegedly been denied admission by three secondary schools because of a crime he committed in 2016.

According to Crime check TV, 23 years old Abu Sufiano Yahya who snatched a lady's handbag in Kumasi in 2016 was sentenced to jail for 12 years. While he was still serving his jail term, he sat for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with tuition from other inmates and wardens.

Later on, Abu Sufiano Yahya won an appeal and was released from prison in December last year. He has always dreamed of being a nurse but unfortunately for him, three different schools refused to admit him after they found out that he is an ex convict.

Crime check TV is asking if there's any law that says that ex convict should be barred from pursuing higher education, they also asked some lawyers to help them in achieving this young man's dream.
