Roads minister Amoako Atta fumes over poorly constructed bridge.

The minister for roads and highways Mr Kwasi Amoako Atta is not happy with the construction work done on a bridge located on the Nsuotem-Offinso road in the Ashanti region. The minister while on a working visit to the region has summoned the engineer who worked on the bridge for questioning. The bridge which was constructed recently couldn't stand the might of the rains as it collapsed during a heavy downpour.

The collapse of the bridge has been attributed to the poor construction work done on it. "Which engineer supervised this kind of dirty work? I am really surprised about what has happened here. It was under who's supervision? Let them cover it. Government cannot water resources on such useless works. Which engineer supervised it? Tell me. Where is he? Is he still in the system?" He fumed.

He has assured the chiefs and opinion leaders in the area that the bridge will be fixed as soon as possible. Reconstruction works on the bridge will be a top priority. The destruction of the bridge has cut off the surrounding communities in the Afigya Kwabre North district. It has become a death trap for the residents of the area. Let us hope it will be fixed quickly as the minister has said.
