S/R: GLYA In Partnership With Caravan Of Mercy UK Distribute Food Items To The Poor And Needy

The Gonjaland Youth Association under the able leadership of Lawyer Alhaji Mohammed Amin Osman and the Caravan of Mercy UK, a charitable group is indeed impacting lives positively in Gonjaland.

Last year (2020), through the efforts of The Caravan of Mercy UK, GLYA facilitated the distribution of Qurans across Gonjaland.

To cushion the less privileged in this holy month of Ramadan, food items which includes, Rice, oil, sugar, Tea and Water were distrubuted to the poor and the needy to enable them observe the fast with ease.

At a short gathering on sunday 2nd May, 2021 to commence the distribution at Kpabuso in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region, Alhaji Mohammed Amin commended Caravan of Mercy for bringing smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries.

Also, he quickly added that, the distribution will only be made to people who were identified by the community leaders as qualified to benefit from the food distribution.

"I do not know any of these women but I have no doubt that, they are really in need and am glad to receive this support from Caravan of Mercy for these people". Alhaji Amin added.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Caravan of Mercy UK and GLYA for surprising them with food items and water. They prayed for all those who contrubuted towards improving their livelihood especially in this month of Ramadan.

The community Imams and the various leaders also expressed their appreciation for the kind gesture shown and prayed for a further collaboration between the two organisations to make way for them to rollout programmes and projects capable of making life much better for all.
