Selorm Branttie Writes - If You Live In Accra, Please Don't Complain About Any Floods

The Communications Director at Imani Center for Policy & Education, Selorm Branttie has commented that, people who live in Accra should complian about any floods. His comments follows the recent flood in many parts of Accra, following rainfall which started on Saturday's night.

In a Post shared on his official Facebook page, on Sunday, 22nd May 2022, Selorm wrote;

"You know what? If you live in Accra, please don't complain about any floods. When we ask for the right things to be done, we turn it into supposed self interests.

The planner who collects a bribe to give out a plan.The house owner who knows they are obstructing a waterway.

The neighborhood that decided that building walls as close to the road as possible to maximize the land space without thinking about a drain on the road and collectively pointing the runoff into nearby storm drains".

He added that the masons who should have advice have absolutely no technical knowledge about where to build what and not.

"All aided and abetted by land grabbing political elite in society who have brainwashed their supporters into desecrating our green spaces and taking a place of pride in doing so just so they can enhance their wealth at the expense of the already built environment cos they can't help but salivate at the prospects of grabbing free land by executive fiat." He complained.

"God told us to look over his environment and we are sacrificing it all to the gods and idols of greed and adulating ourselves in the process.

There will be more floods, lives and property will be lost, and we will still go on because we as a society has come to accept, like the Porta putty girls in Dubai, any crap that comes from the sewer pipes straight into our mouths." He ended.
