Okudzeto Ablakwa To Build US$91,000.00 Plus Ghc150,000 Ultramodern Hospital For His Constituents

Earlier today I inspected progress of work on what will be the first multi-purpose surgical theatre not only for the St. Anne's Polyclinic in Tagadzi but for the entire Dorfor/Fodzoku/Volo/Torgorme enclave in my beloved constituency.

The multi-purpose surgical theatre when completed in August this year will house two theatre rooms, two offices for medical doctors, a nurses' office, two recovery rooms, changing rooms and sanitary facilities.

Construction commenced last year after funding was secured from the Spanish NGO, Manos Unidas following a joint proposal submitted by my office and the Keta/Akatsi Diocesan Development Office of the Catholic Church.

Manos Unidas has made available US$91,000.00 for the physical construction and my office is spending GHS150,000.00 on medical equipment.

I am excited that doctors say this project is going to manifestly address our challenges with maternal mortality which now stands at 197/100,000 live births in the North Tongu District (2020 data); and also help with responding to casualties resulting from road traffic accidents.

Absolutely delighted about what the partnership between my office, our chiefs, the Tagadzi/Atitekpoe communities on one hand and the Catholic Church on the other has achieved since we commissioned the St. Anne’s Polyclinic on June 10, 2015.

I must add that it was remarkable touring the entire facility and seeing both the progress chalked and the dedication of our amazing health workers.

May I single out Dr. Cham, my public health advisor extraordinaire and Dr. Nedzo for their outstanding commitment to health delivery in my beloved constituency.

Thank you Manos Unidas of Spain, we really appreciate this.
