Some Challenges Facing Prisoners At Their Time Of release

Prisoners are confronted by a range of social, economic and personal challenges that tend become problem to a crime-free lifestyle. Some of these challenges are as a results of the offenders past experience and other are directly associated with the consequences of incarceration and following difficulties of transition back to the community.

Prisoners may have history of isolation, physical or emotional abuse, poor employment or unemployment and involvement of criminal lifestyle that began at the early stage. So many offenders challenged by physical and emotional disabilities and health issues that may be related to other social vises like smoking.

Many prisoners are challenge by skill deficit that make it difficult to complete and succeed in the community. Poor cognitive and emotional functioning and /or lack of planning and financial management. Period of transition from custody to community can be very difficult for offender and contribute to stress that follow with being isolated in the community.
