A gruesome accident has occurred today and it has claimed the lives of about 6 New Democratic Congress (NDC) party members and also leaving other 50 members with various degrees of injuries.
The accident occurred on the Ejura-Sekyeredumasi road. A bus full of NDC supporters were on its way to meet the flag bearer of the party who is on tour of the Ashanti region.
According to Joynews Ashanti regional correspondent Erastus Asare Donkor, the accident occurred when a motorcycle (okada) crossed the bus causing the bus driver to lose control. The okada rider is supposedly fine and sustained few injuries. The victims have since been taken the hospital and receiving treatment.
This has become a concern to many at a time where the flag bearer of the NDC party has promised to legalize the okada business. Many have stated that the okada is a major contributor to road accidents in the country.
