University student Arrested For Threatening Family With A Pistol.

Benjamin Betihene, a level 400 BSc. accounting student of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), has been arrested by the police for threatening to shot family members with a pistol at Akim Oda in the Eastern region.

The family members of Benjamin Betihene manage to escape the house and the matter was reported to the police for his arrest.

DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, indicated that the police are investigating a case of possession of firearms without lawful authority.

“The Akim-Oda District Police Command is investigating a case of the possession of firearms without authority. Police had information about a man armed with a pistol in a story building in the Oda town threatening to shoot people. He has threatened to kill all his family members present in the house.” He said.

It was however noted after police preliminary investigation that the suspect, Benjamin Betihene has some mental issues.
