Over GHS 6 million worth of cannabis seized from drug syndicates by NACOC

Over 5,700 kilograms of drugs suspected to be cannabis has been seized by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).

The Commission has mentioned that this mission has been made possible after tracking the activities of a cartel who does their business within Dodowa, Kpong, and Juapong.

These suspected drugs are estimated to be about GHS 6.84 million on the drug market. The seizure according to NACOC was made around Atimpoku from a drug kingpin who operates a network of syndicates within the Eastern, Greater Accra, and Volta Region in the country.

At the end, seven people were apprehended in the operation of transporting the substance from the Eastern Region to the Greater Accra Region. NACOC has firmly stated that these suspects are going to assist them with investigations to clump down on the activities of their accomplices.

It therefore used the avenue to also warn all of those involved in the illegal drug trade to desist because they are on the look out for them and the laws will surely deal with them should they be found.

The Commission went on that currently, they are seeking permission from the Court to destroy the seized drugs. And, the vehicles used by the people have been confiscated.
