A sad story reaches this platform from Offinso in the Ashanti Region indicate that a 19 year old orphan girl, Beautrice Adjei is attending Senior High School with her twins, a boy and a girl without feeling shame of her predicament..
Her ultimate goal behind the constitution of her education is to ensure that she becomes a successful nurse in the future to enable her contribute her quota towards national development, but among the challenges confronting her is about who will take care of the babies, when she leaves home to attend classes.
Beautrice Adjei disclosed that the only family member who can take care of the twins while she is away is her 80 year old grandmother who is bed-ridden for the past two years, adding that having no option, she have to risk carry the babies to school in order to archive her dream of becoming a future nurse.
According to information gathered at Nanmong Senior High School at Offinso where Beautrice attends school, she has since eight months attending classes with the babies and sometimes have to walk out from the classroom to feed the babies at the time her colleagues were seriously focusing attention on their lessons.
Beautrice Adjei in her ordeal, insisted that she mistakenly got pregnant after the death of her parents, a situation she said exposed her into untold hardship.
She said the unfortunate drama happened some few months she completed Junior High School at the time her parents were making preparation to further her education.
The student stated that exploring avenues to gain job opportunity to look after herself, but to no avail, she was later offered a job as a labourer by a food vendor who placed her on a daily wage roll of ghc 3.00 (30ghana old currency) in addition to two free meals a day.
She pointed out that whilst working with the food vendor she met the father of her twin children who promised to help her to continue her education, adding that luck eluded her when she found herself pregnant.
The supposed husband-to-be, Beautrice went on, took to his heels when she leaked the pregnancy message to him, but determined to continue her school, she said, managed to get admission at the Nanmong Senior High School with a full confidence to complete school and further it in one of the country's Nursing Training Colleges to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse
Beautrice who sounded resolute in her current situation expressed her gratitude to the Headmistress of the Offinso Nanmong Senior High School, Mrs Pearl Owusu for being supportive to her in diverse ways including financial to enable her attend classes everyday.
Sir, I am not shacking nor giving up hope until my agenda of becoming a future nurse is fulfilled, Beautrice Adjei told the correspondent.
