Ashaiman, a part of Greater Accra is known to be one of crime prone areas in the capital of Accra. Over many years now, the community has been noted to have recorded lot criminal cases such as, robbery attacks, money snatching and etc. A lot have been said about the community and has turned to be a standing mindset in almost every individual tagging Ashaiman Residents as criminal.
Stonebwoy promoting his yet to happen festival, 'Ashaiman to the world' happening this Saturday that's today has debunked this stand out Perception some people have about the community, Ashaiman. According to him, he sees no reasons to tag the community as a crime riding community and that Mindset should be cleared off. He said this while speaking on the measures to ensure safety of everyone attending the festival in an exclusive interview with Nana Romeo on Accra fm 100.5, mid Morning show 'ayekooo ayekooo'
"Someone will say, as for Ashaiman, it’s full of thieves and other criminals but that’s you holding on to the old perception. If it were so, [ask yourself] have you ever heard, excuse me to say, there’s been a bank robbery in Ashaiman? They say we are strong-willed and unruly but have you heard of such a thing before?”
“Ashaiman is a place you can live without your parents and know that the community is looking out for you. I’m telling you. That’s where I grew up.” Stonebwoy Laments.
