Over the last 2 months, Ghanaians were hit with a sad news about the death of a young lady in Accra Nima. The reports available had it that, the lady was shot during a wedding ceremony where some disturbances surfaced. This incident sent shock waves down the spines of million of Ghanaians who found it difficult to decipher how gun shooting could happen at a wedding ceremony.
Earlier today, October 6, 2021, Onua Maakye show hosted by Yaa Titi interviewed the mother of the lady who was shot. The mother sadly indicated that nothing has been done to bring justice to her late daughter since the police assured her. She narrated how she was abandoned at the hospital when she took her daughter for medical treatment. Speaking further, she that her family has been in sadness because the deceased was her only daughter.
The host of the show, Yaa Titi reacting to the revelations made by the mother registered her disappointment over the development. She stated that Ghana has had many similar cases that ended without justice for the deceased families, but this case should be pursued to the end.
She has expressed optimism in the work of new Inspector General of Police, COP Dampare and his team of police officers. She called on the IGP to step up their efforts to bring the perpetrators into book and compensate the families of the late lady. According to Yaa Titi, Ghanaians are anticipating the final outcome of the police investigation.
She said, "I have informed the police several times that the young guys have guns in their pockets. They have them especially during funerals and weddings. I want to believe that IGP is now aware of these things."
She said, "Cases like these are so sad and it makes me feel disappointed whenever I hear the mother crying for help. We must let justice prevail by all means. I have been calling on you to settle this issue but no one responds. I am getting disappointed. IGP Dampare is failing me this time around."
