Death is the permanent end of the life of a person or an animal, when the heart stops beating and all other functions of the brain and body ceases too. Death is the lack of physical sensation and movement, the struggle between conceding and resisting, the moment of abandoning and giving and the time of human body accomplishment.

Death is to be expected but unfortunately its strikes when no one is anticipating and the accompanying pain is excruciating. Its comes with little mercy to its victims and the bereaved family will struggle to comes to terms with the demise of their beloved.

Police officers are mandated by the constitution to provide internal security. For that matter officers, are supposed to appear infallible to instill in the masses a sense of bravery. But that is not the case with the Ghana Police Service as some officers have died mysteriously within just two months. The causes of these deaths are bizarre as some died through suicide and others through robbery attacks.

The first of such is the death of Lance Corporal Baba who was shot dead on the 19th of January by 10 unidentifiable Armed men who attacked and robbed a white bullion van and made away with a large sum of money valued at Ghs 500,000. The robbery too place at the Adansi Fomena Road.

The second Police officer to have lost his life is Lance Corporal Moses Nettey, who was shot twice in the head and chest died upon arrival at the pramkese health center. He was with the eastern region police command and was murdered in cold blood by high way robbers.

The third is the death of a senior police officer with the half Assini District Police in the Western region. Superintendent Cepram Zenge, shot himself dead by his side arm leaving a death note " I am fed up with this world. " It's not immediately known what might have caused him to act in such manner but if a senior police officer is fed up with this world, how much more can the citizenry cope?

The fourth is another suicide from a Constable, Eugene Yelyona with the National Protection Unit, who also shot him dead on February 1st at the residence of the Togolese opposition leader who is resident in Accra. Its believed hat he also left a death note "I am fed up". It is presumed that he shot himself dead with his Ak47 rifle at the washroom where he was found.

The death of a 50 year old Police officer Deputy superintendent of police Mr. Divine Yao also shot himself in his Bortiman residence. The senior police officer is reported to have died on February 14, Valentine's day in the early hours of the morning after he was rushed to the hospital.

This noble officer is mostly loved by his subordinates and many can testify about that. Its was with great pain when Chief superintendent Michael Vieira was reported dead due to corona on Saturday 20th February. A great senior officer and may he rest in Peace.
