Road Accident

State Of Our Roads, What are the Authorities Doing?

Very recently I wrote a piece titled, "Poor road networks in Ghana, and some related causes as well as problems they create." In that piece I spoke on some of the issues we have with our roads here in Ghana and some of the problems these issues create or bring up.

In todays article i speak on this same topic again. If you have ever used the Spintex road to Sakumono before then i am sure you will be very familiar with what am about to share. More so for those who frequent Nungua to Ashaiman, would also be prelude to what am about to say, and will clearly share my concern

Driving from the Nungua barrier towards Ashaiman means one has to pass by this scene at the traffic light at the former on the run.

What you are seeing is portholes right at the traffic intersection of the Spintex road joining the Nungua - Ashaiman road at the Sakumono estate junction. One might be wondering if the authorities have noticed it. To which i will dare to say, i am a 100% sure it has been noticed. But the issue is when to fix it, or who to fix it. I am not quite sure i understand yet.

Because this has been there since last year. Four months into this year and its still there. I am just hoping and praying that at least it will still maintain that level of minor collision only, and not serious happens due to its presence. Because I don't know how else to put it, due to the fact that its positioning is very very dangerous and makes even negotiating the cure to join the Spintex road upon reaching this traffic a bit tricky. Especially if you are joining said road from the Nungua side.

Personally i am just holding on to to hope that the relevant and concerned authorities will see this article and in response do some about it. Because not only is it causing situational carnage at that intersection. But also it cases and increase in traffic maneuvering at that intersection.

The nation needs all of us alive, and sometimes we fail to see that most often than that the simplest and most overlooked things have the biggest ripple effect yet. Lets share till the relevant authorities see it and respond as they should.
