Kidnappers of pregnant woman in Takoradi demand ransom

The police in Takoradi have confirmed that one Josephine Simons who is nine months pregnant has been kidnapped. The news about the missing pregnant woman hit the airwaves few days ago.

She went missing after her usual morning walk on Thursday, 16 September 2021.

Detective Superintendent of Police (DSP), Olivia Ewurabena Adeku, the police regional spoke person told Asaase radion in an interview that, the police are still investigating the possible where about of the pregnant lady after receiving complaints from her husband, Michael Simons.

According to Asaase report, Mr Simons told the police that, the alleged kidnappers of his wife contacted the family and demanded unspecified ransom.

"They called and gave the phone to her to talk to her mother to make some demands.

The husband said they have lost contact with kidnappers since then, he told the police.

Kidnapping of people have been on the rise for some time now. Many victims have been found dead with their body parts missing whiles others are still no where to be found.
